Partial Denture

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are customized to each individual and replace one or more missing natural teeth. Removable partial dentures restore appearance and improve the ability to chew and speak better. Partial dentures are made of replacement teeth attached to gum coloured acrylic base, some may have metal framework and clasps to attach to your natural teeth. Partial dentures can also be retained by implant if extra retention is required, which the denturist at Modern Denture will collaborate with the dentist to determine the best possible option for you.

  • Removable for ease of cleaning
  • Maintain the position of natural teeth by providing support and prevent shifting of other teeth
  • Cost effective option

Different Types
of Partial Denture:

Cast Partial Dentures

Cast partials are made of Chromium Cobalt (metal) frame and acrylic composition, with metal clasps on natural teeth holding the denture in place. Cast partial denture is rigid and durable. At Modern Denture, we customize the design of your partial dentures to add more teeth in future if more replacement is foreseeable.

Flexible Partial Dentures

Flexible partial dentures or Valplast dentures are made with thermoplastic material designed to look like gum tissue. Flexible partial denture produces the most natural looking replacement for missing teeth without metal clasp showing; however this option is best suited for healthy dentitions. Adding teeth and making adjustment to thermoplastic is not ideal and more difficult than other partial denture materials.

Acrylic Partial Dentures

Acrylic partial dentures are made of metal clasps and acrylic composition without a metal frame work. This type of partial is commonly used a temporary or transitional denture to use immediately after extraction. Acrylic partial dentures are not recommended for a long term solution. At Modern Denture, we can guide you to determine the best option for you.
